Mr Daisuke Seki is the Deputy Director, New and Renewable Energy Policy Division, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Prior he was Deputy Director of Environmental Policy Division, Industrial Science and Technology Policy and Environment Bureau and Defense Policy Division, Bureau of Defense Policy, Ministry of Defense.
He graduated Kyoto University in 2004.

Tetsunari Iida is a leading authority on Renewable Energy, and a “Social Innovator” who has introduced Ecological Initiatives as Executive Director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy Policies (ISEP), a Non-profit and Independent Research Institute. As a Committee Member for METI and MoE, he has proposed Nuclear-free energy policies, as well as Community-based RE Projects in Japan as Secretary-General of the Japan Community Power Association.
He played a central role as co-chair of the executive committee for the “1st World Community Power Conference” which was held in Fukushima city on November 3-4, 2016. The conference was the product of the joint efforts of ISEP, the Japan Community Power Association and the World Wind Energy Association. At the conference, Iida received the World Wind Energy Honorary Award 2016 for extraordinary personal achievements for his promotion of community power.

Since 1997 Mr. Fukazu has engaged in research on electric power quality control of distribution system.
He was also involved in the development of SVR (Step Voltage Regulator) and SVC (Static Var Compensator) for power distribution.
After that, he worked as a member of CHAdeMO association and tackle the spread of quick chargers.
From 2016 he has been engaged in research on cooperation between renewable energy and existing electric power system, up to the present date.

Ms Izumi Kaizuka is the manager of Research Division in RTS Corporation, a PV consulting company with more than 30 years history based in Tokyo. She has been Japan’s representative of Task 1, IEA PVPS since 2003 and one of the authors of IEA PVPS Trends Report. She has been conducting various research projects as a PV market and industry analyst for METI and other government organizations, research institutes and PV companies in Japan and overseas. She also regularly writes articles on PV market for professional magazines.

Tony Nakamura currently serves as Director & CIO at Canadian Solar Asset Management (CSAM) and he is responsible for asset acquisitions in and asset management of PV facilities in Japan. CSAM is an investment manager for Canadian Solar Infrastructure Fund (CSIF) listed and traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange last October. CSIF has bought 15 PV facilities since its IPO under the asset management by CSAM. He joined CSAM in 2016 and prior to that, he has had working experience both in debt/equity originations at Yamaichi Securities and in investment management/client relationship at Millea Real-Estate-Risk Management, Ishin Hotel REIT Management, Tokio Marine Asset Management and International Healthway. Tony earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Hitotsubashi University in 1983 and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1989.

Masayuki Sakai is the CEO and Founder of CO2O. He graduated from Waseda University and earned his MBA’s master degree in Globis management school.
He started the successful business of video picture’s industry in Mitsubishi Corporation’s subsidiary, and established Value Plus Inc. in 2006.
By facing the energy problems in developing Asian countries as a serial entrepreneur, Masayuki Sakai decided to get involved with renewable energy to solve the CO2 problem and he launched CO2O.
CO2O is the market leader of O&M in Japan. Their due diligence track record of Solar power plants reached over 366MW.

Naoaki Eguchi is head of the Firm’s Banking & Finance Practice Group in Tokyo, and is a member of the Asia Pacific Banking & Finance Group steering committee. He has been recognized for his work on Goldman Sachs’ TOB of Universal Studios Japan, which was named the Debt Market Deal of the Year at the 2010 ALB Law Awards. Mr. Eguchi has written articles for numerous publications, including “Japanese PFI/PPP entering a new stage” for Euromoney, and organized and participated in various seminars, including the Nikkei Seminar in 2010.

Yujiro Hirayama is responsible for asset management of renewable energy projects at Octave Japan. Yujiro was formerly the Deputy General Manager at Development Bank of Japan where he oversaw a team that managed a portfolio of real estate, railroad, and construction assets. Previously he held positions with MBIA Insurance Corporation and Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., located in New York and Tokyo, respectively. Yujiro earned his BA in Law from Keio University (Tokyo); studied political science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; studied law and economics at the University of Freiburg (Germany); and received his MBA from Thunderbird. He is fluent in Japanese and English, and conversational in German.
